Dev Uthani 2025:Significance

According to the Hindu Scriptures, Lord Vishnu goes into the deep sleep under milky ocean which is also known as Ksheer Sagar. He takes rest for four month and the period of four months is called Chaturmaas. Durinng this whole period, other Gods and Goddess handle the universe such as Lord Shiva during shravana month, Lord Ganesha during Ganesh Chaturthi, Maa Durga during Navratri and Lord Krishna during Janmashtami and others. Few days after Diwali celebration, now is the perfect time for the Lord of this universe to come out of the milky ocean and take a charge of this universe again. This day is considered as the most beautiful day when the preserver of this universe come out and lit the world with his presence. It is believed that people who worship him with purity and devotion, gets place in his abode (Baikunth Dham) after death. He bestows his devotees with happiness, prosperity, peace and all the worldly pleasures.

Dev Uthani Ekadashi 2025: Rituals

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. After that give bath to Lord Vishnu's idol or if you don't have that then take Laddoo Gopal ji.
3. Take a wooden plank and place the idol of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi in the form of Shri Yantra.
4. Make a rangoli and light your home with diyas.
5. Offer radish, sugarcane, and water chestnut or singhada to Lord Vishnu.
6. Prepare seviyan or vermicelli and other sweets to offer Lord Vishnu.
7. Women sing bhajans in order to appease the Lord.
8. Later on, spend their night chanting the mantras, singing bhajans, do night vigil to welcome their Lord.
