Annapurna Jayanti 2022: SignificanceAccording to the Hindu Scriptures, Goddess Parvati incarnated in the form of Devi Annapurna.
She appeared on earth on request of Lord Brahma and Lord Vishnu and it is believed that Lord Shiva begged for alms to Goddess Parvati for the welfare of the whole world and requested Goddess Parvati to remove the sufferings of the people on the earth and to calm their hunger.
Some people even observe fast on this particular day to please
Maa Annapurna and it is believed that the house where Annapurna Devi is worshiped with pure heart and soul never remain empty.
Life can never be expected without food and water and she is the mother and provider who provides basic and most important things to all human beings which is food and water.
On the auspicious day of Annapurna Jayanti, the devotees who observe fast and perform puja to Goddess Annapurna, get blessed with money, success, prosperity and happiness and never suffers from poverty. In different parts of the country, this day is celebrated as Annapurna Jayanti.
Annapurna Jayanti 2022: Puja Rituals1. Devotees get up early in the morning and clean their house.
2. Take a holy bathe and wear clean and nice clothes.
3. Prepare a rice kheer to offer it to the Goddess .
4. Place an idol of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati on a wooden plank.
5. Light a diya with desi ghee and offer flowers, apply tilak with kumkum and haldi (turmeric).
6. Offer kheer as a bhog prasad to Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati.
7. Pray to the Lord and Goddess and seek blessings from them.
8. Later distribute this prasad among all the family members.
Annapurna Jayanti 2022: Do's and Don'ts1. Respect your guests who visit you and offer them food on this auspicious day.
2. Show gratitude that you have food in your plate and do not waste it.
3. Keep your house clean on this day to please Goddess Annapurna.
4. Avoid consumption of Tamsik food items which includes onion, garlic and non vegetarian food.
5. Distribute food and water to the needy and poor people.
