Amavasya 2024: Date, Timings, Rituals and Significance

Amavasya 2024: Amavasya or New Moon day is considered an important day in Hindu Religion. This day is purely dedicated to worship forefathers or ancestors. Amavasya falls every month and this can be calculated according to the Tithi and by using Hindu Panchang.

Amavasya days are considered inauspicious for performing any auspicious activities such as Marriages, Engagements, Mundan and Griha Pravesh. But Amavasya days are considered auspicious for performing religious activities such as taking holy bath in sacred Ganga river, Pitru Tarpan, Pitru Puja, Pind Daan, doing charity and donation, performing hawan and feeding Brahmins.

Mauni Amavasya, Somvati Amavasya, Shanichari Amavasya, Kartik Amavasya, Mahalaya Amavasya or Sarva Pitri Amavasya, Hariyali Amavasya and Vat Amavasya are few prominent Amavasya observances occur in Hindu religion.

As per Astrology, this day is not considered as a powerful day as it is dedicated to Moon and on this day Moon is in its waning period and this period is considered an inauspicious for those, who have bad placement of Moon in their natal birth chart so here we are giving some remedies by which you can get rid of the bad effects of Moon.

On Amavasya day, one must perform remedies related to Saturn and perform various religious activities such as performing hawan dedicated to ancestors.

Moon Remedies :-

In case, Moon is in a bad position in your natal birth chart then it will definitely affect your mood, emotions and feelings and even more than that. You would not be feeling good or energetic on this day so you must offer water to Moon in the evening time and, also you should offer water to Lord Shiva as only Lord Shiva can save you from its malefic effects.
