Aja Ekadashi 2024: Ekadashi has a great religious and spiritual significance in Hindu religion. This day is considered as one of the most auspicious day to honour Lord Vishnu. On this auspicious day, devotees observe fast and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu with deep faith and devotion. This month Aja Ekadashi will be observed on 11th day of Krishna Paksha in the month Bhadrapada. Aja Ekadashi fast is being observed on August 29, 2024.

Aja Ekadashi 2024: Significance
Ekadashi holds a great religious significance among Hindus. This day is purely dedicated to worship Lord Vishnu and devotees observe fast and offer prayers to Lord Vishnu with immense devotion and deep faith. This Ekadashi is also famous as Ananda Ekadashi. There are two Ekadashi observance in a month and this time, it will be Aja Ekadashi. Devotees who observe fast with full devotion, get blessed by Lord Vishnu with happiness, good health, wealth prosperity and all wish fulfillments. This fast is so powerful that people can get the same benefits as they get from Ashwamedha Yagya.
Aja Ekadashi 2024: Story
As per Hindu Scriptures, it is believed that this fast was observed by King Harishchandra who was famous for his honesty but due to some past bad karmas, hey lost his family and kingdom. He had to wandered here and there in forest. Once he met Rishi Gautam and then he explained about his condition and sought for help then sage Gautam told him about Aja Ekadashi fast and its miraculous effects. He followed Rishi Gautam and performed this fast by following all the rituals and after that he got his kingdom and family. Since then he started observing fast on every Ekadashi.
Aja Ekadashi 2024: Puja Rituals
1. Get up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. Take a wooden plank and place an idol of Lord Vishnu along with Shree Yantra (form of Goddess Laxmi).
3. Light a diya with desi ghee, offer flowers or garland, put chandan tilak and offer Tulsi Patra.
5. Offer Panchamrit, Tulsi Patra, fruits and Makhana kheer or any other home made sweets t Lord Vishnu.
6. Recite Aja Ekadashi Katha and Chant various Mantra - Om Namo Bhagvate Vasudevaye or spend your day chanting Vishnu Maha Mantra.
7. Ekadashi fast can be broken on Dwadashi Tithi but devotees who are unable to bear the hunger, can break their fast by having any milk products and fruits and next day they can break their fast properly by having rice and other salty food items.
8. Chant Aarti and distribute Panchamrit among all the family members.
