Souparnika River and Kodajadri Hills

Taking a dip in the Souparnika River and trekking to the Sarvajnya Peedam are the two important experiences during a Mookambika trip.

Devotees often take a dip in the scenic Souparnika River, which is believed to be the sacred river where Garuda, the divine eagle of Lord Vishnu, has performed intense penance.

The scenic hill range surrounding the Mookambika temple is the Kodachadri Hills. As per tradition, Goodness Mookambika first appeared in the hill range. After a trek of 10-14 kms, devotees reach a sacred spot, Sarvajna Peetha, where Adi Shankara is believed to have meditated.
