The meaning of this teachings

This statement was given by Lord Krishna to Arjuna when they were present in the battlefield of Kurukshetra and this quote is taken from the chapter 2, verse 47. Lord Krishna explained this to Arjuna when he was full of doubts and emotional and encouraged him to just perform his duty and do not think what is going to happen after this because he was fighting against his own family members.

Can we control the fruits of the karma?

The fruits of your actions that means the result, reward and failure and recognition can not be decided or controlled. It is clearly stated in Bhagavad Gita that the result of your karma depend upon many factor such as time, past karma, situations and divine guidance so this can not controlled by a human and they should simply leave it on the divine power and do not waste their time in thinking what will happen in future. But they can control their karma by doing the righteous things in life.
