Vishwakarma Puja 2024: Significance

Vishwakarma Puja is one of the most revered festival, which is celebrated on Kanya Sankranti day or celebrated as Bhadra Sankranti as per Bengali Calendar. This day holds an immense religious significance as this day marks the birth anniversary of Lord Vishwakarma. Lord Vishwakarma is the one who had created the Dwarka, the holy city of Lord Krishna. He is also believed to have created the forged powerful weapons for the deities and gods. Lord Vishwakarma is widely worshipped on this auspicious day.

This day is celebrated by all the craftsmen, engineers, and architects. People offer their prayers and show their gratitude to the Lord for the skills and seek blessings of Lord on this sacred day. They seek forgiveness and ask for blessings to progress in their respective fields and get success. Workers, who work on machines, use tools and other instruments, offer their tools the Lord and seek his blessings. In order to pay the respect to the Lord, they do not use their machines, tools and instrument on the day of Vishwakarma Puja.

1. Wake up in the morning and take a holy bath before worshipping Lord Vishwakarma.
2. Devotees visit their offices, factories and other workplace in order to worship Lord Vishwakarma.
3. People keep holiday for the day but visit their workplace to perform puja rituals.
4. They offer prayers to their tools, machines and instruments which they use for earning money.
5. Offer flowers, akshat and light a diya with desi ghee, offer sweets and pray for the success and progress.
6. They dedicated them to the Lord and seek blessings.
7. At many places, the idol of Lord Vishwakarma is placed and people come together to worship him with devotion.
8. Cleaning of the work place is one of the main thing and people should do that to attract good fortune.
