Ratha Saptami 2024: Ratha Saptami holds a great religious and spiritual significance among Hindus. This day is purely dedicated to worship Lord Surya. On this auspicious day, devotees worship Lord Surya with great devotion and dedication. This day is celebrated as the birth anniversary of Lord Surya. Ratha Saptami is also known as Magha Saptami as it falls during the month of Magha. Ratha Saptami is going to be observed on Saptami Tithi of Shukla Paksha in the month of Magha. Ratha Saptami is celebrated by devotees as the start of the Sun's journey towards the northern hemisphere and the arrival of spring. Rituals and prayers are offered to the Sun God, Surya. The event is also connected to the worship of Goddess Lakshmi and Lord Vishnu. The day is purely dedicated to worship Lord Surya as it is believed that he was born on this auspicious day of Ratha Saptami so people can worship Surya Dev on this day and seek blessings of the Lord.

Devotees take an early morning bath, known as snanam, and offer prayers to the Sun God. They chant Surya-focused hymns and mantras and offer water, flowers and other holy items. On this day, a lot of people observe fast and go to Surya temples dedicated to Lord Surya to ask for blessings for their physical and spiritual well-being.

1. Wake up early in the morning and take a holy bath.
2. Devotees visit holy places to take a sacred bath in Ganga river on this auspicious day.
3. Those who are unable to visit holy places, they can take bath at home and offer Arghya to Lord Surya.
4. Offer Arghya to Lord Surya with jaggery water or put a red rose petals in the water.
5. Chant Surya Mantras while offering water to Surya Dev which are mentioned below.

6. Performing hawan and yajna this day is considered meritorious.
7. It is believed that organising Pitru Gayatri has its great significance if it is performed on this day.
8. Reading Bhagavad Gita and Ramayana is also considered auspicious and remove all the sufferings.
9. This is the best day to make charity and donation to the needy ones or unprivileged people.
10. Reciting Aditya Hridya Stotram has its immense benefits.
