Karwa Chauth holds a great significance among Hindu women. This day is celebrated with great grandeur across the country. Hindu Married Women observe Nirjala Fast for the longevity and well being of their husbands. They do not eat whole day and break their fast only after the Moon rise. Women organise a grand celebration for the day in which they offer Puja to Chauth Mata or Gauri Mata and seek blessings. Women keep an earthen pot filled with water and offer water to Moon in the evening.
