Guru Purnima 2023: Guru Purnima holds an immense significance among Hindus as it is one of the most important day in Sanatan Dharma. This day is celebrated to commemorate the importance of Guru or teacher. People worship Guru on this auspicious day. As per Hindu mythology, it is believed that one of the most famous sage and the son of sage parashar was born on this auspicious day. According to the scriptures, he was divine child who was aware of all the Kaal’s - Bhoot Kaal, Vartamaan Kaal and Bhiavishya Kaal ( Past, Present and Future).

He edited the Vedas into four parts as he knew that people would become spiritually and religiously inactive and to spread the knowledge easily he edited that. That’s the reason he is known as an ancient Guru and this day is also celebrated as Vyas Purnima.

1. Wake up early in the morning and take blessings from your father, mother and elder siblings by touching their feet.
2. After taking bath, offer prayers to Lord Surya.
3. Worship Lord Ganesha as he is the one who is the giver of knowledge and wisdom.
4. In case you have spiritual Guru, must visit to show your gratitude, take blessings by touching the feet.
5. Offer clothes, shoes, fruits and Dakshin on this auspicious day of Guru Purnima.
6. Recite Guru Mantra.
