Ganesh Visarjan 2024: Ganesh Visarjan, the time to say goodbye to the beloved Lord Ganesha, when a large number of people give farewell the most loving god. It is the one of the most significant day, when devotees immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha in water bodies after worshipping him for 10 consecutive days. This day falls on Anant Chaturdashi of Shukla Paksha in the month Bhadrapada. This year Ganesh Visarjan is being celebrated today i.e., on September 17, 2024.

Ganesh Visarjan 2024: Significance
Ganesh Visarjan is one of the most revered day in Hindu religion. This is the day, when devotees finally say goodbye to the Lord Ganpati. People worship him for the 10 consecutive days and perform various puja rituals to please Ganesh Ji and on the last day which is 11th day, they give farewell to Ganpati Ji and immerse the idol in water such as river, ponds, sea or many devotees perform this ritual at home also by creating a pond.
Devotees celebrate Ganesh Visarjan day with great grandeur and enthusiasm and seek blessings of Lord Ganesha. It is believed that Lord Ganesha fulfill their desired wishes before going back to his abode. According to the Panchang, Ganesh Visarjan should be done during the Shubh Muhurat so that Lord Ganesha bless the devotees with happiness, love, wealth and abundance. People invite their relatives and friends at home, perform puja and aarti along with them and take the idol of Lord Ganesha near the river and amid they chant "Ganpati Bappa Morya, Mangal Murti Morya, Purva Varshi Lav Karya".
Ganesh Visarjan 2024: Puja Rituals
1. Wake up early in the morning and take bath before starting puja rituals.
2. Clean the home and puja area.
3. Invite relatives and friends for the Ganpati Visarjan Puja.
4. Prepare various special dishes and sweets.
5. Light a diya with desi ghee and put tilak and kumkum, offer laddoo and modaks.
6. Decorate the idol with flowers and garland.
7. Perform Aarti "Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Jai Ganesh Deva" and "Sukh Karta Dukh Harta Varta Vighnachi"
8. After performing Aarti, devotees take the idol to the sea or river along with these things (coconut, flowers and incense sticks).
9. They take out the grand procession along with family, relatives, neighbors and friends.
10. Devotees dance and chant Ganpati Bappa Morya.
11. They again perform aarti by performing aarti and light incense sticks, offering flowers, sweets and break the coconut there.
12. Some people prepare food also which they distribute among needy people.
13. Finally they immerse the idol of Lord Ganesha in the water and pray him to come back again next year and seek forgiveness, which they might have committed during these 10 days.
