Ganesh Chaturthi 2025: Significance
Ganesh Chaturthi is one of the most prominent Hindu Festival. This day is celebrated with great grandeur and fervor. Ganesh Chaturthi is regarded as one of the most auspicious festivals. Devotees carry idols of Lord Ganesha home, where they worship him and keep him devotedly for eleven long days. You can keep the idol for 1 and half day, 3 days, 5 days, 7 days, 9 days and 11 days. The number of days that devotees wish to keep the idol at home is entirely up to their choice. On the day of Ganesh Chaturthi, devotees observe a fast and sincerely offer prayers to the Lord Ganesha.
Ganesh Chaturthi 2025: Puja Rituals
1. Get up early, take bath, and wear fresh, clean clothes.
2. Cover a wooden plank with a piece of red or yellow fabric and adorn it with flowers.
3. Place an idol of Lord Ganesha after sprinkling Ganga Jal.
4. Light a diya, place haldi and kumkum tilak, offer clothes, Laddoo or Modak, yellow flowers, Meetha Paan, Paan supari laung, and five different kinds of dry foods to Lord Ganesha.
5. Chant the mantra "Om Gan Ganpataye Namah" to begin the puja rites.
6. Chant Ganesh Aarti and recite Bindayak Katha and Shree Ganesh Stotram.
7. Some individuals celebrate Lord Ganesha's homecoming by hosting kirtan and bhajans at their homes.
