Christmas 2022: Christmas is the festival of joy and happiness which is celebrated by all the christians all over the world with great grandeur and enthusiasm. This day commemorates the birth anniversary of Jesus Christ who is believed to be the son of God. Christmas is celebrated every year on December 25.

Christians people decorate their house with X-Mas tree and flowers and lights, invite their friends and family at home and women prepare homemade sweets and cakes then cut it together and distribute it among all the family members and friends.
In many parts of India, banana or mango tree is decorated as the Christmas Tree instead of a pine tree.
The Christmas celebrations in South India have similarities with Hindu custom. Oil lamps are lighted and used to decorate the house, much like the festival of Diwali. The light signifies that Jesus is the light of the day.
The northeastern tribe in India have largely been Christianized and the festival is widely celebrated here. People visit different villages in the groups and sing songs about the glory of Christ.
In Goa, Christmas festivities are celebrated with great enthusiasm, people sing song and organise dance programs and parties. Traditional midnight long carnival is held.
Christmas 2022: History of Christmas Tree
One of the main legend signifies Christmas tree as Christianization of pagan ritual during winter solstice. There are rituals like worshipping of pagan tree and the use of the green boughs. It is believed that once there was a saint Boniface who was an english monk. Once he saw that many pagans gathered at one place to sacrifice an innocent child to the Thor God. After seeing this, Saint Boniface make the tree fall down to save the child.
A small tree grew up at that place and as per the saint this tree symbolized an eternal life of Christ and it would be called as the Tree of Life. Since then, the tree is decorated with ornaments and lights and worshipped as a token of positive spirit on the eve of Christmas
