Sanju Samson's family

Sanju Samson, the Kerala dynamo lighting up the 2026 T20 World Cup, didn't just wake up as a cricket sensation. His cricketing journey—from Delhi streets to global stages—owes everything to his family's grit, sacrifice, and their shared dreams. Captaining Kerala's U-13 squad in 2007, leading U-16/U-19 sides, smashing a Vijay Merchant double ton that paved Ranji paths, and being in the victorious Indian squad for T20 World Cup 2026—Samson's career is nothing but awe-inspiring.

Meet Sanju Samson's father Samson Vishwanath

Picture a Delhi Police constable moonlighting as Santosh Trophy football star for Delhi—meet Sanju's dad, Samson Vishwanath. A cop by day, footballer by passion, he juggled both. Spotting Sanju's spark early in life, Samson sent his boy to Kerala for better turf—then quit the force voluntarily, uprooting the family to nurture the dream.

Sacrifice defined him. No regrets in retirement; now he cheers from sidelines, family time his new field. Sanju also often credits his father for his cricket journey. In Feb 2023, Sanju posted a birthday tribute to his father that read: "Happy birthday to The Real Samson."

Meet Sanju Samson's elder brother Saly Samson

Sanju Samson has an elder brother Saly Samson, who is also a cricketer. Saly started his cricket journey as a Kerala junior star turned KCA Royals/List-A player (38 runs in 6 matches for Accountant General's Office club). Injuries sidelined him brutally—four years of surgeries, heartbreak. In 2021, when Saly made a comeback, Sanju posted a heartwarming post on social media which read: “A great salute to your passion, dedication and love for this game BHAIJAAAN. You fought very hard for 4 long years with your injuries and surgeries to get back on the ground and do what you love the most in this world. Wishing you the best going forward and I hope you keep playing this beautiful game for as long as you wish for !!!”

Today, Saly's Accountant General's office job, marriage, and daughter Hazel Saly Samson keep him grounded. Meanwhile, Saly and Sanju's brotherly bond seems unbreakable—Saly's struggles taught Sanju resilience.

Legacy of love

Sanju Samson's stats are interesting—Ranji runs, India A dominance, winning T20 World Cup 2026— but his family seems to script the real story. Sanju's dad's decision to move to Kerala for his son's cricket, mom's steady calm, and brother's support: they helped shaped Sanju Samson into the sportsperson he is today.
