One of the most infamous royal divorces in history is perhaps of King Henry VIII and Catherine of Aragon's. Their separation didn’t just end a marriage; it also changed the religious map of England! They were married for over 20 years, but when Catherine failed to produce a male heir, Henry sought an annulment of their marriage. When the Catholic Church refused, Henry completely broke away from Rome entirely and established the Church of England.
