4 relationship lessons to borrow from Yami Gautam and 'Dhurandhar 2' director Aditya Dhar

In an industry that thrives on spectacles, actress Yami Gautam and her husband, ‘Dhurandhar 2’ director Aditya Dhar, like to keep it simple and private. Their love story is rooted in simplicity, mutual respect, and grounded love. The couple tied the knot in 2021 in an intimate family ceremony. There were no paparazzi, no grand announcements, or elaborate pre-wedding festivities—just two people choosing each other in the presence of their loved ones. If you look closer, Yami Gautam and Aditya Dhar’s marriage offers some genuinely meaningful lessons on what grounded love can look like.

2/5

They avoid over analysis

Yami Gautam has earlier expressed that in their marriage, they don’t really overanalyze everything. They don’t dissect every issue. They would rather focus on the love and respect that bind them together. “We don't overanalyze everything. We just love and respect each other for who we are,” she told the Free Press Journal earlier. And that, exactly, is one of the biggest green flags in a relationship.

3/5

Respect is non-negotiable

Falling in love is easy. But without respect, love has zero meaning. They adore each other for who they are and respect each other the same way. Yami Gautam has also shared how respect is the foundation of their beautiful relationship. “I don't know how to define love. It's an emotion where you feel it or don't feel it. I think one of the most important elements in a relationship is respect. Mutual respect is very important,” she said.

4/5

They are each other’s biggest cheerleaders

Aditya Dhar and Yami Gautam have worked together in several films, including ‘Uri: The Surgical Strike.’ The couple appears to be each other’s loudest cheerleaders. Dhar has often been vocal about his admiration for Yami’s talent, while she never misses a chance to celebrate his work and achievements. Aditya Dhar’s much-anticipated film, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge,’ hits the big screens today. And guess who the biggest cheerleader is? While speaking at the News18 Rising Bharat Summit 2026, she said, “I have already watched Dhurandhar 2. It is beyond extraordinary. I was really emotional. I had to catch a flight that day, so I couldn't say anything to Aditya, but later, I couldn't do anything. I had to read a script, but I couldn't; I had to watch something, but I couldn't. I was just watching the beautiful sunset outside and wondering what I would tell Aditya when the flight landed. I wanted to justify my feelings about the film and what I experienced. Aditya loves his audience and the country, and he has given his life's effort to make this film. Dhurandhar 2 will be an experience that audiences will never forget.”

5/5

They adore each other

The couple is head over heels in love. In 2024, as Dhar celebrated his birthday, Yami Gautam penned a note on Instagram that read, “Words shall never do justice to how I feel about you and the fact that I lucked out marrying the best man in the world. Thank you for everything that you do and for who you are. I love you so much.” Dhar doesn’t shy away from expressing his admiration for Yami, either. On their anniversary, he wrote, “You were, are, and always will be the most beautiful woman in the world for me! Happy anniversary, my love!”
Two people choosing each other, every single day!
