Times Food & Nightlife Awards 2011 in Kolkata

The ambience was tangy, spicy, hot and intoxicating at the same time. With celebs and the khana khazanas choosing to date one another at the Times Food & Nightlife Awards 2011, it was one filling affair.
Caring two hoots for the calories and cholesterol, the city’s Who’s Who got mushy with the mushrooms and pranced around the pasta, before romancing the rosogollas. Sidhu of Cactus, who was seen stuffing yummies into Subhajit (of Lakkhichhara) and Soumitra’s (of Bhoomi) mouths, said, “Beyond food, I was feeding them another idea — ‘Cholo mama eksathe lorchhi, lorey jai’. Yum, no getting ‘fed up’ here. Another sight left a sugary sweet aftertaste. It was when Jayjit was tucking in the mishtis. “It felt as if I’m at my in-laws’ place. Forget the diet, I had to gorge on the sweets. I can brave an insulin shot now,” said the actor. Sanjoy Nag’s spaghetti encounter turned out to be quite memorable, while Baji drummed up a storm at the mishti counter. “I had forgotten the lichur payesh. Tai paan kheye abar firey eshechhi,” said the Cactus drummer. Model Runa, who was chatting up designer Abhishek Dutta in one corner, was overheard confessing, “I’ll certainly not fit into your clothes. At least, not for now.” There were others, who didn’t have such a ‘model’ concern. Madhabilata, for one, made a sweet surrender with her repeated trips to the mishti corner. Burp re!
