Shankar Mahadevan? The duo soared the spirits of Kolkata with a dazzling evening at the Teacher’s Origin Highnights, hosted by Beam Global Spirits and Wine, celebrated in the city on Wednesday evening.
The packed audience at a city five-star hotel was treated to some wonderful stand-up comedy and music. The 3 Idiots actor provided the audience some food for thought by asking, ‘Which is that one thing, Indians are bad at?’ Many guesses over, Boman said, “At clapping and applauding.” Needless to say, that elicited a loud round of applause. He teased the audience, cracked some silly Parsi jokes, while talking about his background.
He also narrated how he modelled his character of Virus on
Javed Akhtar and Alyque Padamsee, which had the audience in splits. Next, it was time for some music and Boman impressed one and all by singing We are the world, which was a tribute to MJ on his first death anniversary. If Boman was at it full-on, Mahadevan proved an equal with his simple renditions of the saat sur and composing some impromptu music at the venue.
