Google locks in 2.6 million sq ft expansion space at Bengaluru’s Alembic City
Google is expanding its office presence in Bengaluru’s Whitefield area, securing rights over about 2.6 million square feet at Alembic City, signalling a long-term commitment to the region’s technology hub, reported ET.
The expansion follows an earlier lease signed in October 2024, under which Google IT Services India had taken around 650,000 square feet of office space at the same campus.
As part of the agreement, the developer has committed to exclusively reserve three additional blocks -- the Annex Tower, Office Block Tower G and Office Block Tower B-- for Google, according to documents shared by Propstack.
“The lessor shall not, during the subsistence of this right, negotiate or agree to lease the reserved blocks to any third party” unless Google formally declines them, the agreement stated.
The arrangement effectively gives Google first rights over future expansion space within the Alembic City development, allowing the company to scale operations in phases as demand grows.
