What Women were and What Women are!
Women are evolving in every era, and thus bring both good and bad changes with them. But what’ good or what’s bad, who decides? Ironically, women only! . Let’s first talk about women who belong to pre-millennial generations, Gen X, who has mastered the art of becoming pseudo feminists. What do they do, surprisingly, they pretentiously boast about gender equality.
However, what they implement in the eq-system is keeping and feeding the males needs on priority and supporting gender-biased roles. In short, the patriarchy of men run by women. The situation complicates where they meet the millennial daughters-in-law who are a bit ahead in understanding gender equality. Women of the house are always in tussle because as per them both are feminists but the reality of following it in their lives is drastically different.
Screwed up, Aren’t we?
And this individualized version of feminism is passed down to the next generation. Now, our generation which is called Gen Y, are raised in a more liberated way to be more ambitious and aware of society. We believe in sharing duties with men equally. But, unfortunately, what we are doing is what expected from us by society. We are okay with our surnames changing after marriage, giving our career decisions to be taken by somebody else conveniently, and hence making the same mistakes that we kept on doing generation on generation. Moreover, We only keep the man of the house ahead of women by praising them for doing the most basic kind of household work whereas it is as much as their house as a woman’s. we still keep the burden of our house, raising a good family on a woman’s shoulders whereas men address expected to be there on the front door. We still want our daughters and daughters-in-law to follow the so-called traditions whereas men still go around without any such traditions to be followed.
