Standup comedian Bharti Singh and her husband were arrested by the Narcotics Control Bureau on charges of possessing and consuming cannabis. Names of actresses Deepika Padukone, Sara Ali, Arjun Rampal, her live-in partner, Rakul Preet and many television actors have been revealed. Arjun Rampal’s live-in partner has also been arrested. These are the people whose screen, the gallantry, the haughtiness, the idealism, make the general public so impressed that they start treating them as their icons.
Icon making is an inevitable process in every society. Icons are made so that society brings down the values established by them. Unfortunately, the wrong icons have been made in India. There are two reasons for this.
