The weary Mumbai train traveller

The weary Mumbai office goer day in and day out gets up in the morning early to get a seat on the train,

On entering it he finds out with a look of desperation, there is no seat and all effort in vain.

The journey starts from the station that he boarded, the weight of his bag, pulling his shoulders down,

Just like him, fellow passengers who have boarded from the previous station have the same expectations, with every station coming and going, all you can see them is a frown.

The ventilation and the fans seem to be operating so inefficiently, the sweat on your brow refusing to drop will you wipe it clean,

Do these passengers sitting on the seats from the starting station have no mercy, can’t they look at your plight, and are they so mean?

The destination station finally arrives, the body feeling so tired from the travel, going weak in the legs has another meaning,

For the few precious moments that you get with yourself, irrespective of whether it’s a train or a metro, looking at the sea of people around you, with mental agony one is screaming.

Don’t know whether more trains and metro lines will solve the problem of the over exploding population,

It only seems to be getting worse with every passing day, life continues to be a struggle for the middle-class Mumbaikar in our nation.

\' over exploding population\' are the key words very rightly mentioned. it\'s always been a first come first served as far as train seats are concern...
