Kerala under the grip of cancer

Not only in any other parameters but the incidence of cancer too makes Kerala ahead of other states. The incidence rate of cancer of 135.3 per one lakh in Kerala is far ahead of the national average of 106.6 per one lakh. But nobody cares.Kerala being a consumer state paying heavy prices for the ignorance of its people coupled with the inaction on the part of the government. They have the wrong priorities. Apart from cancer, the incidence of organ failure is also very high in Kerala. Bihar, well known for its food sufficiency is the state with the lowest rate of cancer incidence. Adulteration and the presence of high levels of pesticides in fruits and vegetables constitute major causes for fatal diseases.

It is the high time for authorities and religious organizations initiated actions to fix this problem as to how this much severity, why and who is responsible. We should realize the double standards of people of Kerala who exports pure vegetables and fruits to Gulf countries and sell adulterated ones to local people even though products are sourced from the same suppliers in the neighbouring states.

Unscrupulous people and politicians make the lives of innocent people miserable.
