Diego Armando Maradona left the world on 25 November 2020. The star of football who just celebrated his birthday on 30 October is no more with us. Every footballer and every fan mourned on the demise of the Argentine legend.

Maradona was a player who can’t be compared to any in the past, present or in the future. The names for what he was known as were all honourably collected, even ‘The Hand of God’. The Barrilete, Barrilete Cósmico, Dieguito, D10S, El 10, El Diez and Pelusa of the football history. He owned many records and titles:

Hand of God goal against England in 1986
Earned ‘The Goal of the Century’ in the Quarter Finals of FIFA with England
91 appearances for Argentina with 34 goals
Made Argentina win four world cups!
Has the record for making the most appearances as captain of any country
Maradona is one of only three Argentina players to have scored in three separate World Cups (1982, 1986 and 1994), alongside Messi (2006, 2014 and 2018) and Batistuta (1994, 1998, and 2002).
He was fouled 54 times in the 1986 edition. An amazing record!
He has scored 293 goals in total in his footballing career. 253 goals for his clubs and 34 for Argentina.
Maradona was the most renegade and deceived player but it didn’t matter at all because he played football like a God! The jersey number 10 was the most celebrated and loved by everyone. He is the most renowned player before Messi and CR7. The world of Pele vs Maradona was the same as CR7 vs LM10. In his autobiography, he said that he had become such a skilful player as a youth that opposing trainers sometimes blamed him of being a grown-up midget. He was the player who didn’t play for big-name but for winning! In the match against England in 1986, Maradona was embarrassed when was asked to put the corner flag on its position. Later in the second half, he was minutes away from being named ‘The Hand of God’. In the 51st minute, he earned that title. In the 55th minute, his goal made England lose hopes and he earned the ‘Goal of the Century’ award for it (the goal).

People mourning on his death remember what the legend said and passed away, and their expression is:

“To see the ball, to run after it, makes me the happiest man in the world.”
” O am Maradona, who makes goals, who makes mistakes. I can take it all, I have shoulders big enough to fight with everybody.”
” You can say a lot of things about me, but you can never say I don’t take risks.”
“I am black or white, I’ll never be grey in my life.”
“There would be no debate about who was the best footballer the world had ever seen, Me or Pele. Everyone would say to me.”
” Messi scores a goal and celebrates. Cristiano scores a goal and poses like he’s in a shampoo commercial.”
“Do you know the player I could have been if I hadn’t taken drugs? I am 53 going on 78 because my life hasn’t been normal. I have lived 80 with the life I have gone through.”
“Score another Hand Of God against England, but this time with the right hand.”
Although his last wish of playing against England wasn’t fulfilled, he has made England suffer enough with his Hand of God! Every known player and every footballing star shared their condolences.
