This is a true message that reminds us that indeed the future of a nation is in their youth not because of the possibilities in front of them but because of the limitations they can self impose for a greater welfare.When opera singer Malena Ernman and actor Svante Thunberg of Stockholm had to give in for the demands of their daughter Greta to adopt an organic lifestyle, they were not aware that she might end up as the youngest person to be Time Person of the Year or even going to be nominated for Nobel Prize in Peace this year. Greta’s initiation of school strike against climate change is having a pedigree chart connection as she is connected patrilineal to Svante Arrhenius who propounded greenhouse warming. Greta being non-affiliated to any ideology or support groups argues for climate change through her own changed pro-environment lifestyle. She is the poster girl of worldwide mobilized demand for pragmatic climate change actions. “I want you to panic,” Greta announced with conviction to the pressure group leaders at the recent World Economic Forum in Davos. “I see the world in black and white, and I don’t like compromising,” Greta was referring to her Asperger’s diagnosis which made her perseverance rather strong. Greta after listening to factual situation of the upcoming crisis was determined to do something for it. She had written an article in the Swedish newspaper where she was able to gather the support of many environmental activists. Further the decision to go on school strike happened as she wanted to compel the Swedish parliament to meet its Paris targets. Her Fridays for Future swept across the Europe and other Western countries which had made her fight a collective one and for a common cause-our future. Greta is the youngest person to be Time Person of the year. And still she carries on her fight amidst the crises.
