So, it was the month of September when I got a call from my aunt, I was busy cleaning my room and setting up my wardrobe I picked up that call and said, “Tell me quickly what you want to tell I have a lot of work to do”, and then she said your brother is getting engaged and you soon going to become sister-in-law. My first reaction to this is completely confusing like how I should react then I suddenly scream!! I am so much happy and excited at the same time that we are finally welcoming a new member to our family. My aunt said that we have fixed a date of an engagement i.e., 20th October So planned your schedule according to this.
I went home 2 days before the engagement and prepare for the same and we happily ended the engagement ceremony on the 20th of October. Now it’s time to decide the date of marriage, we finalize the date according to Indian culture (muhurta) and it was the 5th of February 2022. I was very excited about this because after a long time in my family there is some function where everyone gathered to have fun, recall old memories, celebrate this event, and create new memories.
At that time, I am leaving in a hostel away from family in Indore. My aunt said that you have to do the preparation for the wedding while leaving in a hostel because all the things which are required for the wedding will be easily available in Indore with a lot of varieties and also, I am familiar with the market of Indore, so I am comfortable with this.
As Diwali passes, we began to start our preparations for the wedding like purchasing clothes, deciding about the return gifts, etc. with a lot of excitement and a little bit of worry about whether we will be able to manage all the preparations on time or not.
It’s high time for us in January when we have to put an end to the preparations for the wedding and focus on who will manage which work and how? we allocate all the work to our family members separately. I was allotted work of managing the whole event of ladies’ sangeet which will be held one day before the wedding and also to look at the part of the decoration that will it be properly done by the organizer or what changes are required in it.
As time passes my excitement level for the wedding increased and now, I can’t wait to dance and welcome my sister-in-law. It was the 27th of January when I got a message that you have your final year’s examination starting from 15th February, and you have to prepare for the same. My excitement level goes down I was in tension that now how will I manage both things because there are several ceremonies held after the wedding also,
It’s a tough time for me now to manage my both responsibilities together. I was preparing for the wedding at the noon and at the same have to study for my examination at night. It was a very hectic schedule for me to manage both things simultaneously.
But in the end, I am able to manage my brother’s wedding as well as my examination in a good manner. Through this incident, I am able to realize that I have the potential to do things simultaneously with my whole energy and come up with a better result.
Through this incident, I realise my inner potential and I got to know that I can manage everything by giving best and I try to have that potential in my future challenges also.
