Take-off woes - That Sanjay Leela Bhansali and JP Dutta are two of the most dedicated directors around is a fact. But often they have to pay a price for their dedication in the form of accidents during the making, cast troubles and so much more. If Bhansali’s Devdas was labelled jinxed after the freak accident on the sets which led to two technicians losing their lives, Dutta’s Kshatriya also had its share of bad luck when lead actress Divya Bharati died before the film’s release and Sanjay Dutt was arrested on his return from a foreign shooting schedule of the film. And who can forget the devastation that Dutta’s Border brought about on its release day at Uphaar cinema in Delhi and the almost real life Devdas being played in the lives of Salman Khan and Aishwarya Rai. But history, it seems is repeating itself once again.
While Bhansali’s next project Bajirao Mastani is shrouded in casting controversy (Rani, Kareena or Katrina Kaif) after Ash refused to work with Salman Khan, Dutta’s mammoth LOC has already witnessed some bad weather during its shooting stints at Leh- Ladhak.
Is Sooraj Barjatya suffering from a Salman hangover - The promos of Rajshri’s Main Prem Ki Diwani are out and all those who’ve seen them would know that Salman Khan is definitely not starring in the film. Or is he? What else can you say when the lead actor, Hrithik Roshan is named Prem (as Salman was called in all three Rajshri films) and what’s more like Salman, he too removes his shirt in the film more than once. Soorajji, are you missing Sallu miyan!
SMS hype killing Bollywood suspense - Kaante started it. Kucch To Hai followed suit and now Bhoot is raking it in. Technology, it seems is not only making its presence felt vis a vis special effects and production values in Bollywood rather is even ‘scripting’ finishes. The latest filmi SMS doing the rounds is concerning Ram Gopal Varma’s Bhoot, which goes, “You are my friend, so I am doing you a favour by saving your precious three hours. Saif Ali Khan is the Bhoot in Varma’s Bhoot. harneet_singh@indiatimes.com
