<div class="section1"><div class="Normal">There are those whose idea of a relaxing 10-hour flight is kicking back with eyeshades, a stiff drink, and Kenny G.<br />Not me, though – give me Sonu Nigam''s perky <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Chamakti shaam hai</span> (<span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Yaadein</span>) or Sukhwinder''s impassioned <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Aaj meri jee karda</span> (<span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Monsoon Wedding</span>), creating my very own dreamy Indian movie soundtrack as we coast above the clouds. Turns out, lots of Indian music lovers share my idea of heaven.<br />Virgin Atlantic listened - and is now programming "<span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Bombay Mix</span>," a blend of Indian filmi and pop music, in all classes on all of its routes, not just the ones in and out of India.<br />"Our market research shows <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Bombay Mix</span> to be one of the most listened-to shows of our audio selection on all flights," says Lydia Romero, Virgin Atlantic''s manager of acquisitions and publishing.<br />The current one-hour playlist includes the Sonu Nigam and Sukhwinder tracks, plus <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Wo Ladki Hai Kahan</span> (<span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Dil Chahta Hai</span>); pop singles like <span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Khoya Khoya Chand Hai</span> from Udit Narayan; and tracks from Asha Bhosle, etc.<br /><span style="" font-style:="" italic="">Bombay Mix</span> is produced for Virgin by Keith Lee of Inflight Productions in Singapore, explained Romero.<br />The show is presented by Asif Khan. Born in Hyderabad, India, Khan lends an upbeat, mischievous presentation style to the show. </div> </div>
