Youth shot in US cremated at his native village in Punjab

The Punjabi youth, shot in the South Lake Tahoe town of California in US on August 6 was cremated on Saturday at his native Major Kishnewally village in Fatehgarh district.

PATIALA: The Punjabi youth, shot in the South Lake Tahoe town of California in US on August 6 was cremated on Saturday at his native Major Kishnewally village in Fatehgarh district.
Manpreet Singh Ghuman, 27, was killed when an unidentified gunmen shot him on August 6 night. His body was brought back to India by his uncle Avtar Singh.
Manpreet had migrated to United States around two years ago and was employed at a gas filling station at South Lake Tahoe.
He was shot during his work hours. The body was consigned to flames on Saturday morning.
Barring a few local leaders and people of neighboring villages, no senior official of the district administration was present.
