HYDERABAD: The
Virginia governor
has appointed
Indian origin Jayanth Challa
to the Small Business Commission in the state. The Small Business Commission exists to study, report, and make recommendations on issues of concern to small businesses in the state.
Challa is a Virginia resident since 1988 and currently lives in Vienna. He has a 30-year career working for information technology and engineering consulting companies.
He is currently the president of Ace Info Solutions (AceInfo), a Dovel Technologies company, based out of Reston, Virginia. Challa began his career as a staff engineer working on military family housing projects in Germany and
Guantanamo Bay
, Cuba.
Speaking to TOI, Challa said, "As part of the small business commission, I will be able to work with Virginia legislators, senators and delegates to study, report, and make recommendations on issues of concern to about 800,000 small businesses in the Commonwealth of Virginia. I will try to help
Telugu
and Indian IT small businesses in policies such as lower taxes, business incentives and investment into research and development."
"Great organisations don’t see people as a commodity to be managed to help grow their money, they think of money as a commodity to be managed to help grow their people", he added.
