Noida: Over 750 students engage in sports and fitness activities
Over 750 students from 119+ international schools compete in world-class facilities; distinguished guests inspire the next generation of athletes. Prometheus School, Noida, successfully hosted the 7th edition of the International School Sports Organization (ISSO) Table Tennis and Badminton Tournament 2025–26, bringing together more than 750 students from over 119 international schools across India.
The four-day sporting event, held from Oct. 11 to 14, was a vibrant celebration of skill, sportsmanship, and teamwork, featuring over 320 participants in table tennis and 400 in badminton.
The tournament took place at Prometheus School’s state-of-the-art sporting complex, which meets international standards. The facilities include an air-conditioned badminton hall with an impressive 52-foot ceiling height and eight professional courts, along with a dedicated table tennis hall housing 15 tables. Other highlights include a 50-meter Olympic-size all-weather swimming pool, a 10-meter shooting range, a gymnastics hall, and a dedicated sports hostel—all showcasing the school’s commitment to developing future champions.
The event concluded with a grand Prize Distribution Ceremony attended by distinguished guests, including Ms. Medha Roopam, District Magistrate of Gautam Budh Nagar; Padma Shri awardee and Olympian Mr. Achanta Sharath Kamal; and Indian para-badminton player and Paris 2024 Paralympian Mr. Tarun Dhillon.
Commending the initiative, Ms. Roopam lauded the vision of Mr. Mukesh Sharma, Founder Chairperson and CEO of Prometheus School, expressing confidence that many Olympians would emerge from the institution. Mr. Sharath Kamal motivated students to “dream and aim for the stars,” while Mr. Dhillon, who trains at the school’s Badminton Academy, encouraged them to push their physical and mental limits.
Prometheus athletes performed exceptionally well, with the Under-19 Girls Table Tennis Team—Jetashri, Parnika, and Plaksha—securing first place. Jetashri Rathore and Yashvasin Bolishetty received Best Player awards in their respective categories, while Nysa Wadhwa qualified for the SGFI Nationals in Under-14 Badminton. Other top-performing schools included Indus International School, Inventure Academy, Dhirubhai Ambani International School, B.D. Somani International School, and JPIS Jaipur.
“Our vision at Prometheus is to create a platform where young athletes can aspire for excellence and represent India at the international stage,” said Mr. Mukesh Sharma. “The ISSO 2025–26 tournament truly embodied that vision—celebrating discipline, teamwork, and the relentless pursuit of excellence that defines Prometheus.”
