JAISALMER: BSF jawans deployed at the borders hardly get opportunity to celebrate any festival as they constantly guard the borders. This year, the Jaisalmer district administration will celebrate the
70th Independence Day with BSF jawans deployed at the Indo-Pak border. Jaisalmer district collector K C Meena will also be there. Each jawan will be given two ladoos deployed on 471 km long border.
On Sunday 10,000 ladoos (750kg) were sent to BSF officials that will be distributed among jawans on Independence Day. Confirming this, the collector said that there will be celebrations at the border on August 15.
Meanwhile, in Barmer, there will be special attraction on I-Day. For the first time, Air Force para trooping and para sailing will be conducted. Camel safari team from Delhi will participate in the function. For the first time, BSF commando parade will also take place. Barmer collector Shiv Prasad Nakate held a meeting in this regard and directed the officials to ensure maximum participation of the people.
In the meeting, BSF commandant Sham Kapoor gave details about the programmes to be organised by BSF and Air Force.
