RAIPUR: With its lead in 10 out of 11 Lok Sabha constituencies, BJP in Chhattisgarh is apparently all set to repeat its performance of 2004 and 2009 elections.
Former chief minister Ajit Jogi is the lone
Congress candidate, who is leading in Mahasamund constituency by 20,000 votes. BJP's sitting MP Chandulal Sahu is trailing in Mahasamund from where Jogi had won the 2004 elections by a margin of more than 1.18 lakh votes.
Chief minister
Raman Singh's son, Abhishek Singh—who is testing his electoral fortunes for the first time—has established a comfortable lead of 25,000 votes over his nearest Congress rival Kamleshwar Patel.
BJP candidates are leading in all the constituencies reserved for tribals and one constituency reserved for the scheduled castes.
