Nagpur: Vidarbha Literary Festival (VLF) will host a fireside chat with author and journalist Nidhi Dugar Kundalia at its next run-up event on Saturday. TOI is the media partner for VLF.
Kundalia’s book ‘White as Milk and Rice: Stories of India's Isolated Tribes’ chronicles the hardships faced by the native tribal people of India. The book discovers for the reader what the marginalised communities of India feel about the treatment meted out to them.
What do they feel when made to dance as curiosities of indigenous culture, or exploited for the mineral wealth that lies under their homes?
Veteran filmmaker Shyam Benegal writes in praise of Kundalia’s book: “White as Milk and Rice has engrossing tales that are told with genuine feeling and beautiful details of constantly evolving human emotions. There are books that change the way you look at people, and this is one of them.”
The interaction will be moderated by activist-lawyer Paromita Goswami at Mimosa Hall, Chitnavis Centre. Citizens interested in attending can register on vidlitfest.com. The event will start at 5pm and attendees are required to present their double vaccination certificate.
