Circus Er Ghora Movie Review: A lesson to never stop dreaming

A considerable part of Circus Er Ghora is predictable and a bit dragging, lightened up only by Paran Bandopadhyay's sarcastic dialogues and impeccable comic timing and Indrani Haldar's grace. The narrative switches between distinct storylines, brimming with excessive music and melodrama. Through the film, directors Rajesh Dutta and Ipsita Roy Sarkar try to reflect on the elderly’s tendency to fantasize and live like children. The film also tries to convey complex aspects of society and essentially, every parent's nightmare about their children growing up and moving away.Paran Bandopadhyay as Manik Babu is a highlight of the film. It’s his character that binds the film together. Even Sumit Samaddar is good as Babu da and Indrani Halder’s grace makes up for most of the flaws in the screenplay and the over-usage of visual effects. Tatai's character is relatable, as he’s a victim of the typical Bengali approach of reprimanding a child because of his fairy tale fantasies and innocence. Overall, Circus Er Ghora is an amusing watch. Tiyasha Naskar
