Story: What happens when Chandrakant Deshpande receives a letter from none other than Amitabh Bachchan, on his 75th birthday? How does this affect his strained relationship with his family? Review: 'Old age makes cruel fun of you', says Vikram Gokhale in the film. This line, more or less, forms the crux of AB Aani CD, which revolves around the life of Vikram Gokhale's aged character Chandrakant Deshpande aka CD, and the struggles that arises when elders are neglected by their family. If you have watched the trailer of this film you will understand the story. On his 75th birthday, CD gets a letter from Amitabh Bachchan aka AB, who reminisces about their time spent together in school. While everyone is intrigued about this sudden letter, the incident gives impetus to a clever plan that aims to bring CD and his family close again. While the story of the film is interesting, as are the performances, particularly noteworthy by Akshay Tanksale and Sayali Sanjeev apart from Vikram Gokhale, the film fails on the execution front. Director Milind Lele, who directed Bandishala before this one, doesn't seem to have a grip on the subject and the result is a not-so-entertaining film. The highlight of the film, of course, is Amitabh Bachchan's entry. The star's commanding presence makes you sit and take notice. So, if you are willing to watch what all goes into taking the story to its aim, you can watch AB Aani CD. But don't go expecting a gripping and fully entertaining film. Kalpeshraj Kubal
