31 Divas Movie Review {2.5/5}: Critic Review of 31 Divas by Times of India

Story: After much struggle Makarand Sawant (Shashank Ketkar) bags an opportunity to direct a film backed by a well-known production house. Everything goes well, until an accident occurs on the sets. Will he will be able to complete the film? Review: 31 Divas takes you on an inspiring journey through the life of Makarand, who takes challenges head-on. Soon, he meets a well-known producer Meghraaj (Raju Kher) who agrees to fund Makarand’s dream directorial. But, just when the film is on the verge of completion, Makarand is asked to leave the project. Not ready to give up easily, he is determined to bounce back and is strongly supported by his wife Mugdha (Mayuri) and friend Meera (Reena). Although the film has a good pace in the first half, it is the second half gives better scope for actors to perform. Emotions are well-weaved in the story and the actors deliver sincere performances. The film falls short in some technical aspects though. Better editing could've made the film crisper and more enjoyable. Also, the music is disappointing and fails to create an impact, thereby hampering the film as a whole. Shashank steals the show by performing with aplomb while Mayuri as his wife displays a variety of emotions with ease. Reena, who plays a visually-impaired girl, excels in every frame and impresses with a poised performance. Despite a poor plot, director Ashish Bhelkar saves the film from becoming boring and makes it worth watching once.
