Inamdar Movie Review: Inamdar review: A story inspired by the reality that engulfs a lot of the entitled kids of the new generation

Plot: At a time when filmmakers are basing their work on stories inspired by real life, Inamdar yet another to follow suit. This story is set in the Malnad region and therefore brags of including all the nativity that comes with such a settingReview: The head of the prestigious Inamdar family of North Karnataka does not have children. He seeks God's intervention, as he feels that a child can bring in happiness for his family. His prayers are answered, and his wife gives birth to a baby boy. The son is brought up with great love and care, so much so that he grows up to be a young man who loves and is addicted to living a life of luxury. The father is not okay with that attitude and the rest of the story is about the father hoping to change and reform his son. Does he succeed or is it too late for change? Director Sandesh Shetty's story touches on social issues such as discrimination, as well as a lesson about the rich flora and fauna in the forest. While the story is rather predictable, one can look at it as an interesting point of view on how our immediate environment influences us and where we must ourselves try to draw a line. However, the predictability is what makes the story lag too. Ranjan, who plays the young boy, is promising. Pramod Shetty excels in his unique role. Raghu Pandeshwara, Chirasree Anchan, Sarath Lohitashwa, Prashant Siddhi and Esther Noronha add value to the story. However, that does not help cover the lapse in the screenplay. -Harish Basavaraj
