NEW DELHI: Xiaomi has launched its first smartwatch in China. Called Mi Bunny, the watch is meant for kids. However, the device packs in a lot of features that comes handy for parents to track kids.

While the smartwatch looks attractive for kids to wear, it is armed with GPS, Wi-Fi, GLONASS along with an embedded sim card.


“You can easily find out the location of your child. If he arrives or leaves the setting area, you will receive a notification! Also the device supports voice calls. Set 6 family numbers and communicate with your kids freely. Even if your child is not around, the family can interact with him through the App,” explained the company on its website.

    Parents can mark a certain perimeter or route as safe area on the app. The moment the kid leaves it, a notification will be issued on the parent’s smartphone.
    There is also a panic button on the device and unknown calls are automatically rejected by the Mi Bunny. The device is waterproof.


    The Mi Bunny, like the Mi Band, tracks sleep quality and activities. It features a LED dot matrix display and comes with silicone wrist straps. It is powered by a 300mAh and is compatible with smartphones running Android 4.2 or iOS 8 and above.


    The Chinese giant has announced that it will officially launch its smartwatch (for adults) in second half of 2016.

    The device costs CNY 299 in China or around Rs 3,000. The company has not revealed any launch plans for the same in India.
