Samsung launches 2016 edition of Galaxy J5, J7 smartphones at Rs 13,999 and Rs 15,990 respectively
NEW DELHI: As widely expected, Samsung has launched the 2016 editions of Galaxy J5 and Galaxy J7 smartphones in India today. Both the smartphones will add to the company’s mid-range portfolio in the country and will be exclusively available on e-commerce website Flipkart.
Galaxy J5 has been priced at Rs 13,999, while Galaxy J7 sports a price tag of Rs 15,990. Successor to last year’s Galaxy J5 and J7, the duo boasts of a metal frame design.
Both the smartphones run on Android 6.0 Marshmallow operating system and sport a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front snapper for selfies.
Talking about the other specifications, Samsung Galaxy J5 has a 5.2-inch HD display with 1280x720 pixel resolution. The device is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core processor paired with 2GB RAM. The onboard storage is 16GB which can be further expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. The smartphone is backed by a 3,100 mAh battery.
Samsung Galaxy J7 (2016) flaunts a slightly bigger display of 5.5-inch HD with same (as J5) 1280x720 pixel resolution. Powering the device is an octa-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz coupled with 2GB RAM. The smartphone comes with same internal storage (16GB) as Galaxy J7, which can be expanded up to 128GB via microSD card. The handset houses a slightly bigger (than J7) 3,300 mAh battery.
