Design and build quality
As far as the design goes, the Intex Aqua S7’s front looks a bit inspired from the iPhone. The smartphone comes in three colour variants - Champagne, Rose Gold and Dark Blue, and we tried the Rose Gold one.

S7 has a plastic body with round edges and features a 5-inch HD IPS display of 720x1280 pixel resolution. Although the company claims that the display is scratch proof, we’ll only be able to test it out once we review the device extensively. During the limited time we had with the Aqua S7, we found the display to be fairly good. Colours look vibrant and viewing angles are decent as well.
Intex Aqua S7 has the volume rocker and the power button on the right side. The top edge has the 3.5mm audio jack, whereas the bottom edge is where the microUSB port is.
The rear panel of the Aqua S7 has a 13MP primary camera with LED flash, fingerprint sensor as well as the Intex branding. The back panel is removable and taking it off reveals a 3,200mAh battery (non-removable) battery, as well as two sim-card slots and a microSD card slot.
Overall, we thought found the design of the phone to be pleasing, especially for the price.
Performance and cameraBefore we move on to talking about the phone’s performance, we would take a minute to throw light on its hardware specifications. Powered by a 1.3GHz MediaTek MT6735 processor, Intex Aqua S7 comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage. It also supports microSD cards of up to 64GB in size. The smartphone packs a 3200mAh non- removable battery and comes with 4G VoLTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS and NFC connectivity options.
During our time with the Intex Aqua S7, the smartphone’s performance seemed promising. The

6.0 Marshmallow-running Aqua S7 comes with an app drawer type UI. The software comes without any customization, and came with a number of in-built apps like Saavn, SonyLIV, UC Mini, Swalekh, Oxigen Wallet, News Point, and others.
On the performance front, the smartphone carried out various basic tasks smoothly when we tried it. We even tried to launch and switch between various apps, and the phone did not show any lag. This is something that we considered to be a plus, as not all smartphones in budget range can handle too many applications.
Intex Aqua S7 can store up to 5 fingerprints. Besides unlocking the device, the fingerprint sensor can also be used to play/pause music and videos on the device, take pictures, return to Home and even answer phone calls. During our limited time use, the fingerprint sensor worked well.
We also gave the smartphone’s 13MP camera a shot. It seems to take decent images in well-lit conditions. However, things go a little down in dimly-lit areas.
What we think Due to our limited time usage of the device, we couldn’t test some aspects of its performance such as battery life. Obviously, this is something we’ll be able to check once we review the Aqua S7 in detail.
In a nutshell, we found the Intex Aqua S7 to be a fairly decent smartphone. But whether or not it’s actually worth buying, you’ll have to wait for our full review. So stay tuned.
