Huawei Honor 5A launched with 5.5-inch HD display, 13MP camera

NEW DELHI: Chinese smartphone maker Huawei has launched its latest budget smartphone - Honor 5A, in China. The successor to last year’s Honor 4A, the smartphone is priced at $106 and will be available in black, white, blue and gold colour options. It will go on sale in China starting June 17. That said, there is no word about the global roll out of the device yet.
In terms of specifications, Huawei Honor 5A features a 5.5-inch HD display of 720x1280 pixel resolution. It is powered by a 1.2GHz octa-core Kirin 620 processor paired with 2GB of RAM. The phone offers 16GB internal storage which can be expanded by microSD cards of up to 128GB.
Huawei Honor 5A comes with dual-sim functionality and runs Android Marshmallow 6.0 operating system. The smartphone flaunts a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and an 8MP front snapper for selfies.
On the connectivity front, the handset offers 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS, with a 3,100mAh battery providing backup to the hardware.
Earlier this year, Huawei unveiled its Windows 10-powered 2-in-1 device called MateBook. Starting at a price of $699, the MateBook is powered by 6th generation Intel Core M-series processor.
Huawei is offering the MateBook in six hardware options -- Core M3/4GB RAM/128GB SSD for $699 or 256GB SSD for $849, Core M5/8GB RAM/256GB SSD for $999 or 512GB SSD for $1,999 and Core M7/8GB RAM/256GB SSD for 1,399 or 512GB SSD for $1,599.
