Coolpad takes on Xiaomi Mi 5; launches Max for Rs 25,000

NEW DELHI: As expected, Cooplad today launched its latest smartphone Max in India. The priciest smartphone by Coolpad yet, Max will be available exclusively on Amazon.in starting May 30.
Launched last year in China, Coolpad Max is priced at Rs 24,999 and boasts a unibody metal design. The highlight of the smartphone is its 'Dual in One' system that creates two virtual spaces - Private and Main, inside the OS. Files, personal contacts and other information stored in the Private space are only accessible to the owner.
It is also possible to create a separate phone book, WhatsApp account and more in the Private space. On the other hand, Main space lets both the owner and others to access apps and information just like any other smartphone.
Coolpad Max has a 5.5-inch Full HD display with 1,080x1,920 pixels resolution. A 1.5GHz octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 617 processor paired with 4GB of RAM takes care of providing power to the phone. There's 64GB of internal storage which can further expanded via microSD cards of up to 64GB.
Coolpad Max comes with dual-sim functionality and runs Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system. It sports a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing shooter for selfies. Connectivity options include 4G, LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The handset is backed by a 2,800 mAh battery with fast charging capabilities.
Recently, Coolpad launched the Note 3 Plus smartphone in India with a price tag of Rs 8,999. The smartphone sports a 5.5-inch Full HD display and is powered by a 1.3GHz Octa-core processor. It offers 3Gb of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage which is further expandable up via microSD card. Coolpad Note 3 Plus is the successor to last year's Note 3, which was the first device to offer a fingerprint sensor in this price segment.
