MUMBAI: The third Mahindra Scorpio Times of India Sports Awards (TOISA) powered by All-Out, is India's first and largest multi discipline sports awards.

is a platform created by the Times Group to recognise and reward Indian sporting talent and achievements on a global scale and will be held tonight to honour the lion hearts who have done the country proud.

's ascendancy to No 2 in the women's rankings; the untiring Mithali Raj and Jhulan Goswami broke international cricket records; shooter

Ankur Mittal

delivered India several medals on his way to the No 1 rank in the double trap; Pankaj Advani extended his international titles count to 18; and eternal fighter MC Mary Kom returned to the boxing ring to reclaim the title of Asian champion.




On the team front, the men's and women's hockey teams won the Asia Cup; the women's cricket team reached the final of the ICC World Cup; the men's cricket team had its most successful year ever; and Sunil Chhetri's football unit marched on unbeaten all year while breaching the 100 mark in the FIFA rankings.

And then there were those brave hearted para-athletes who won medals at the prestigious World Para Athletics Championships.

The jury for this year's Mahindra Scorpio TOISA is chaired by Arjuna Award and Khel Ratna recipient Abhinav Bindra, who won India's first individual Olympic gold in 2008, and comprises Gautam Gambhir, India's third most successful Test opener and two-time World Cup winner, football legend

, double Paralympic gold medal winner Devendra Jhajharia, track and field star Reeth Abraham, who won three gold medals and one silver at the international level, along with the Chief Editor of Times Internet Ltd, Rajesh Kalra, who is also a member of the PM's task force on the preparations for the next three Olympics.
