But that was a long time ago, when Ujjwala Raut was a freshfaced model, hopeful, struggling to best the Paris runways, a YSL modelling contract as yet an impossible dream.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">This weekend, both conquered, the now New-York based willowy supermodel chose to write her own love script.On June 19, Ujjwala tied the knot with her real life hero, Scotsman Craig ''Maxwell'' Sterry, her boyfriend of three years. This at badboy crooner David Bowie and his supermodel wife Iman''s posh home in downtown New York, amidst a handful of friends, some of them international supermodels. She does, of course, now move in the same circles as Gisele Bundchen and Karen Mulder.</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">Speaking to </span><span style="" font-family:="" arial="" font-style:="" italic="">TNN</span><span style="" font-family:="" arial=""> from New York, six hours before the wedding, Craig sounded excited and tense. "I''m nervous," he said. </span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">"We decided three days after Ujjwala''s birthday on June 11. That''s June 14, my birthday! Bowie is a friend, but Iman and Ujjwala are close, so the wedding is at their house."</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">The Gemini pair live and work on separate continents most days — Craig in London, Ujjwala in New York. But in this day and age of planetary transits, what''s mere continent-hopping?</span><br /><br /><span style="" font-family:="" arial="">Friends in India are excited for her. "It''s like a dream come true," Ujjwala text messaged mentor designer Hemant Trevedi from New York. "I trained her at the Look of the Year contest, in 1996," reminisces Hemant. "She''s always been special to me." "I don''t know whether she''ll be wearing a saree," Craig told us, just hours before the wedding. "She''s getting prepared right now.
