8 weekend getaways under 300 km from Bengaluru

Tired of Bengaluru’s endless traffic and endless office Zoom calls? If your soul is silently screaming for a break but your calendar (and wallet) can't handle a full-blown vacation, we’ve got you covered. Within just 300 km of the city lies a treasure trove of weekend wonders — where the Wi-Fi is weak, but the vibes are strong. From misty hills to waterfall chills, these easy escapes are perfect for hitting the refresh button without using up all your leaves or fuel. Let’s get out of town, shall we?

2/9

Coorg (260 km)

Land of aromatic coffee plantations, Coorg is the ideal getaway for this summer season. If you are looking for a place with verdant meadows, scenic views, and serene waterfalls, this place is for you. Early mornings in Coorg are absolutely beautiful; chirpy bird calls and majestic valley views offer once-in-a-lifetime experiences. Perfect place to chill even if you are traveling solo. If you are tired of that everyday city noise, visit Coorg; it is known to soothe your soul.

3/9

Bheemeshwari (105 km)

Bheemeshwari is all about riverside calm, where you can go fishing, take a coracle ride on the Cauvery, or just lounge in a tree-ringed camp. For a natural reboot, it's ideal. You, the river, and maybe some curious monkeys—no one else, no fuss. Great for quick getaways with plenty of peace. The early morning mist is amazing for pictures. Take some time off and visit this place with your family and friends. Enjoy the peaceful and serene atmosphere there.

4/9

Kabini (210 km)

In Kabini, nature exudes elegance. Delight in the views of the golden hour, wildlife adventures, and riverside accommodations. If you seek a luxurious yet adventurous experience, this place is ideal for you. Embark on an early morning safari to witness deer, elephants, and possibly a leopard. Following that, unwind with a glass of wine or a cup of coffee by the river. It’s an incredibly relaxing and gentle experience. Ideal for photographers, couples, or families looking to immerse themselves in wildlife. Bonus: The sunsets here are truly exceptional.

5/9

Nandi Hills (60 km)

Classic, quick, and easy getaway. Just 1.5 hours away from Bengaluru, it is known for its picture-perfect morning views, Tipu Sultan’s fort ruins, and chill climate. Ideal for an early morning ride to the mountains and a brunch date kind of trip. Nandi Hills, also called Nandgiri in ancient inscriptions, is situated at an altitude of 4,850 ft. above sea level. It inhabits an ancient temple dedicated to Lord Shiva in Chola dynasty architecture. Sunset from Nandi Hills is mesmerizing; it offers a garden area for kids and families to relax and enjoy their peaceful evenings.

6/9

Chikmagalur (245 km)

Hidden away in the Western Ghats, Chikmagalur is an ideal destination for trekkers, coffee enthusiasts, and individuals seeking tranquility. Start your day with a freshly brewed cup of coffee from a nearby plantation, and then make your way to Mullayanagiri for breathtaking views of the surrounding hills. Chikmagalur provides opportunities for both trekking and relaxing in a hammock. With its remarkable landscapes, it's perfect for scenic drives, cozy stays, and that much-needed “do nothing” weekend.

7/9

Sakleshpur (220 km)

A place full of forts, falls, and full green fields. It is pure, unadulterated nature, and that's just what you want to unplug. Whereas plantation walks give you a feel of leisure travel, waterfalls such as Magajahalli give you a chill. You're in paradise when you add home-cooked food and campfire nights. Accessed easily, hard to depart. Here you get to stay in rustic homestays, wake up to bird calls, and trek through dreamy trails, all in one place.

8/9

Shivanasamudra ( 135 km)

Famous for its twin waterfalls, Gaganachukki and Bharachukki, it’s an amazing place to witness, especially during monsoon. This is the land where the Kaveri River splits into two, forming two separate waterfalls. It is also the first hydroelectric power station in the whole of Asia. The cool breeze, fresh smell of mud and milky water of Twin Falls are a sight to behold. This place offers you a perfect photo op. Great for a picnic and a road trip as well.

9/9

Yercaud (230 km)

Yercaud, nestled in the Shevaroy Hills, is peacefully lovely. As cool, but not as commercialized as Ooty. Think of misty mornings, peaceful lakes, and winding roads like the famous 32-kilometer Loop Road. Ideal for short group getaways, cyclists, and couples. Go for a boat ride around Yercaud Lake or visit viewpoints such as Lady's Seat. Read under a tree or unwind at a garden café. Without the thrill of a long journey, this is for lazy weekends and mountainous moods.
