Noida to host 37th annual Vasant Utsav flower show from February 20; key details here
Noida is set to bloom with vibrant colors as the 37th edition of the four-day annual flower show, Vasant Utsav, kicks off on Thursday, February 20, at the Helipad Ground/Shivalik Park in Sector-33A. Organized by the Noida Authority in collaboration with the city's floriculture society, this much-anticipated event will run until Sunday, February 23, offering visitors a delightful floral experience.
Inspired by the Maha Kumbh, this year's theme promises a stunning flower entry that will envelop guests in a heavenly atmosphere. A stunning 30- to 35-foot model of the holy Kashi Vishwanath Temple made completely of flowers serves as the focal point of the event. The purpose of the theme, "Triveni Sangam of Prayagraj," is to honour India's spiritual and cultural legacy.
With over 350 floral entries and more than 40 stalls, this year’s Vasant Utsav is expected to surpass previous editions in scale and grandeur. The festival will be open daily from 11:00 AM to 9:00 PM IST, and entry is free for all visitors.
Friday marks the start of the festival with a formal opening ceremony and floral arrangement competition, followed by cultural entertainment. On the second day, guests can take in breathtaking flower arrangements, vegetable and cut bloom sculptures, and a thrilling fusion band show.
The third day will feature an introduction to gardening by horticulture experts, followed by a prize distribution ceremony and captivating performances showcasing the cultural dances of India. The final day promises a vibrant flash painting competition, another round of prize distribution, and a grand closing ceremony featuring a dazzling laser show and a traditional Kavi Sammelan (poetry session).
A wide array of flowers will be on display, including alyssum, aster, brachycome, calendula, dianthus, gazania, larkspur, marigold, nasturtium, nemesia, Californian poppy, salvia, stock, verbena, and viola. These floral exhibits will be complemented by stalls offering gardening essentials and expert tips.
Schools, corporate offices, colleges, and resident welfare groups (RWAs) have all received invitations, guaranteeing broad involvement and participation. In order to guarantee a seamless event, the organisers have taken great care, guaranteeing both flower lovers and casual guests an enjoyable time.
The 37th Vasant Utsav will be a colourful and immersive experience for sure, thanks to its combination of floral creativity, cultural performances, and horticultural knowledge. This is a must-attend event for all those interested in gardening or just wanting to take part in a vibrant celebration of the natural world!
