Asia’s largest tulip garden in Srinagar ready to open for tourists; check here for dates
Asia’s largest tulip garden, nestled below the scenic Zabarwan Hills and overlooking the iconic Dal Lake in Srinagar, Kashmir, is all set to open its gates to the public from March 26. Boasting over 1.7 million tulips across 74 varieties, this floral marvel is expected to draw unprecedented crowds this spring, with the Floriculture Department anticipating a significant surge in tourist numbers following last year’s impressive 4.65 lakh visitors.
Hundreds of gardeners and staff have been working tirelessly for six months to ensure the garden is in peak bloom for its grand opening. Alongside the tulips, the garden features an array of other spring blossoms, including daffodils, hyacinths, muscaris, and cyclamens. This year, with 1.7 million spring blossoms, the authorities are expecting a large number of tourists.
As per last year’s records, the garden received around 4.5 lakh tourists. The garden is one of the most popular attractions in Srinagar, with around 3,000 queries already received. The department has also expanded the garden’s offerings, increasing the tulip varieties from 73 to 74 and enhancing green patches for a balanced aesthetic.
