Khajuraho

A UNESCO World Heritage Site that is known for its stunning medieval temples with intricate carvings of erotic sculpture and Nagara-style architecture. This temple showcases Hindu and Jain religious art. Other than this, visitors can enjoy the popular sound-and-light show in the evenings that narrates the history and legends of the temples. One can also visit other natural wonders nearby such as Raneh Falls and Pandav Falls.

Bandhavgarh National Park

The Bandhavgarh National Park is located in the Umaria district. This national park has dense sal forests, rolling hills, and grasslands. The park boasts high tiger densities in the country, and one can also spot other animals such as leopard, dhole, gaur, chital, sambar, nilgai, chinkara, northern red muntjac, and more, and also houses a diverse variety of bird species. Bandhavgarh National Park also holds mythological significance as the park derives its name from the Bandhavgarh Fort, which is said to have been given by Lord Rama to his brother Lakshmana to keep a watch on Lanka.

Kanha National Park

One of the tiger reserves of India and also the largest national park of the state of Madhya Pradesh. The park hosts Bengal tiger, Indian leopard, sloth bear, barasingha, dhole, and more species as well as a diverse species of birds. The park offers jeep safari and guided nature walks, ideal in the post-monsoon months of October onwards when wildlife is active and vegetation lush.

Pachmarhi

Located in Hoshangabad district, Pachmarhi is the only hill station in Madhya Pradesh in the Satpura range. This beautiful hill station is surrounded by dense forests, waterfalls, and caves. Visitors should definitely visit tourist attractions here such as Dhupgarh, Bee Falls, Duchess Falls, and Jata Shankar caves. The most fascinating fact about Pachmarhi is that its name stands for five caves and these caves were built by the five Pandava brothers of the Mahabharata era during their thirteen years of exile. One can also try activities like paragliding and boating.

Satpura National Park

A tiger reserve located in the Narmadapuram district of Madhya Pradesh. The national park gets its name from the Satpura range and houses a great variety of animals and plant species. Visitors can witness over 1,300 species of plants and also around 50 species of mammals such as spotted deer, sambar, gaur, nilgai, Indian muntjac, four-horned antelope, and more. The park is often combined with visits to Pachmarhi hill station for a complete wildlife and nature experience.

Mandu

A historic city known for its majestic palaces located in the Mandav area of the Dhar district.. Visitors must visit some architectural marvels such as the Jahaz Mahal, Hindola Mahal, and the tombs of Baz Bahadur and Rani Roopmati. The city of Mandu is surrounded by lush greenery and has monsoon-fed lakes that turn even more beautiful during October.

Omkareshwar

A sacred island in the shape of the Hindu symbol Om (ॐ). The Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga temple is located on this island and is one of the most sacred Shiva shrines in Hinduism. Madhya Pradesh has two Jyotirlingas, the second one, Mahakaleshwar Jyotirlinga, is situated about 140 km north of Omkareshwar Jyotirlinga. Since the land has the Narmada River around it, visitors can also go for boat rides here, especially during October as the weather is quite pleasant.

Known mainly for its grand Gwalior Fort that also offers panoramic views, majestic palaces, ancient temples, and vibrant markets. Visitors can experience the sound-and-light shows narrating the city’s history at the majestic Gwalior Fort, enhancing the beauty of the experience.
