Customarily referred to as "Asia's Cleanest Village," Mawlynnong is a secluded Khasi village that boasts cleanliness and ecological sensitivity. Each home is engaged in maintaining the village in pristine condition with bamboo dustbins and green-friendly measures. Plastic is prohibited, and smoking is not encouraged. Amazingly, there have been essentially zero reports of theft in decades. The village defies traditional notions of security and crime, presenting a rare model of faith-based community harmony and trust. It's a community where belief quite literally determines lifestyle.
